Shandong painter Li Xiuquan, born in 1966 in Zaozhuang, Shandong, has loved calligraphy and painting since childhood. At seventeen, he apprenticed under the renowned landscape painter Mr. Zhang Jiguo, and has long devoted himself to the study and creation of landscape painting. His works emulate ancient masters, with a natural style that retains innovation within tradition, featuring unique compositions, fresh concepts, and elegant colors. His works have won awards multiple times in national and provincial calligraphy and painting exhibitions and have been published in various municipal and provincial newspapers and magazines. In 2015, his work won an award at the 2nd “Light of China” National Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition and was invited to tour exhibitions in Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hong Kong, and Macau, with on-site works presented as gifts to the chairmen of the Chinese Culture Promotion Society of Hong Kong and Macau. He is currently a painter in the first session of the nationally selected “Huaxia Fine Brushwork” Elite Class, receiving guidance from mentors such as Li Baolin, Du Dakai, Cheng Dali, Huo Chunyang, Miao Zaixin, Lao Pu, Ren Huizhong, and Chen Shibin. He is currently a member of the International Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Exchange Promotion Association, director of the Zaozhuang Youth Artists Association, Secretary-General of the Xuecheng District Artists Association, and Vice President of the Zaozhuang Grand Canal Calligraphy and Painting Academy. He is now a professional painter based in Beijing, a contracted painter with Beijing Junlong Art Company, a contracted painter of “Huaxia Fine Brushwork,” and a specially appointed painter of the “He Tianxia” program at the Hezhou Calligraphy Academy in Anhui.
