 Xiong Jiyu, oil painter and calligrapher. Vice President of China National Painting and Calligraphy Academy, President of Qilu Oil Painting Academy, National First-Class Artist, honored by the Ministry of Culture as one of the "50 Influential Oil Painting Masters of China," Director of the Chinese Painters Association, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Cultural and Art Talents Association, Vice President of the Chinese Ethnic Artists Association, Member of the Chinese Calligraphers and Artists Association, Shandong Branch Member of the China Artists Association, Council Member of the City Artists Association, Deputy Director of the City Oil Painting Art Committee, Vice Chairman of the High-Tech Zone Artists Association in the city, Standing Director of the First Shandong Provincial Hard-Brush Calligraphers Association, Chairman of the Jining Branch; contracted artist with Beijing Hanhai Qianyi Gallery, Beijing Zhenpin Tianxia Painting and Calligraphy Store, and Shandong Yixin Garden Gallery.
He began studying painting under renowned artist Fan Yunqi at an early age, graduated from a normal school majoring in fine arts, studied oil painting for four years in the studio of Cui Kaixi (Professor at the Liberation Army Academy of Arts), two years in oil painting creation under Qin Dahu (Professor at the China Academy of Art), and learned figure painting in traditional Chinese style under China's famous masters Wang Zheng and Yin Peihua. He has also received guidance from Professor Zhu Naizheng, Vice President of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and Professors Pan Shixun and Wu Xiaochang, building solid realistic skills and creative abilities. In calligraphy, he has studied the styles of Wang Xizhi, Mi Fu, and Ouyang Xun. For over 40 years, he has specialized in oil painting and gouache, while also exploring freehand figure painting and calligraphy. Mr. Xiong Jiyu has achieved remarkable depth and mastery in oil portrait and landscape painting. He loves life and frequently engages in plein-air sketching, integrating both Eastern and Western artistic traditions. He has conducted field studies and sketches in Hong Kong, Macau, Myanmar, Xishuangbanna, Mount Tai, Mount Lu, Mount Huang, Mount Jiuhua, Mount Taihang, and the Yimeng Mountain revolutionary base area. His works are profoundly influenced by artists such as Cui Kaixi, He Kongde, Qin Dahu, Gao Quan, and Yang Keshan, characterized by vivid charm, pure and simple colors, and rich national sentiment. At the age of 10, his artwork was first exhibited; at 20, he published propaganda art and had works published. His pieces have been selected multiple times for national, provincial, and municipal professional exhibitions, winning awards and being featured in professional journals such as "Fine Arts Newspaper," "Shenzhou Painting and Calligraphy News," Beijing's "Art and Prosperity," and "Art Talents," as well as mainstream media including "Dazhong Daily," "Qianwei Newspaper," Xinhua News Agency's "Holiday Weekly," "Qilu Evening News," "City Space Newspaper," "Xinchao," "Society and Science," "Film Communication," "City Express," and "Story Panorama," among more than 20 publications, and on Shandong Television. His works have earned high praise from experts and collectors both domestically and internationally, and are collected by professional institutions such as domestic and international art associations, galleries, and museums. Collecting his artworks offers stable value preservation and appreciation potential. He has participated in numerous large-scale auctions of master artists' works in China. Recently, he has drawn significant attention, admiration, and acclaim from dozens of cultural and artistic institutions, publishers, auction companies, professional journals, and online media. He has been awarded the title of "World Famous Artist in Painting and Calligraphy" by the International Federation of Artists, Belgium World Cultural Exchange Center, China-Japan-Korea Calligraphers Friendship Alliance, Singapore Shicheng Seal Carving and Calligraphy Society, and Canadian Alliance of Chinese Art Experts and Professors; conferred the title of "One of the Hundred Famous Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Masters" by the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Friendship Association; awarded the title of "Outstanding Contribution Artist" by the China National Studies Research Association; and in 2009, his works were appraised by the Foreign Affairs Department of the State Council's Asia-Pacific Economic Development Center as state diplomatic gifts to be presented to international friends.
