Meng Qingzhu, styled Xinmo, with the sobriquet Cangzhen, is the 73rd direct descendant of Mencius, the Second Sage. He is a member of the Shandong Provincial Artists Association and a First-Class Artist. Born into a scholarly family, he has loved traditional calligraphy and painting since childhood. In the late 1960s, while serving in the military in Beijing, he was fortunate to receive guidance from masters such as Li Kuchan and Liu Haisu. Diligently exploring and creating with unwavering dedication, he draws from diverse concepts and techniques, whether by referencing ancient traditions and Western color and form, or extracting varied imagery from life to express profound insights. Whether in monumental works or small pieces, his art exhibits broad inclusiveness and offers endless appreciation.
Benevolent Virtue and Confucian Spirit   Precise Ink and Color    ——In May 2018, hosted by the Shandong Provincial Cultural Center, Jinan Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Jinan Artists Association, and Lixia District Federation of Literary and Art Circles of Jinan City, with academic direction from the Shandong Provincial Artists Association; the renowned artist Meng Qingzhu’s Heavy-Color Chinese Painting Exhibition was held at the Shandong Provincial Cultural Center.
