Men Qingfa, a contemporary Chinese calligrapher, aged 62; born on July 3, 1956, retired cadre from Qingdao Locomotive Depot of Jinan Railway Bureau, China Railway Corporation, native of Xihé Town, Zichuan District, Zibo City, Shandong Province. He has long been engaged in trade union and cultural publicity work within his unit, graduated from the Advanced Calligraphy Creation Research Program at Qigong Academy, Beijing Normal University. Passionate about calligraphy since childhood, influenced by his father, he has diligently practiced brushwork over the years, devotedly studying various styles of Chinese script, and is proficient in five major styles: regular, cursive, clerical, seal, and running script. He excels in running-cursive, regular script, and clerical script, gradually developing his own distinctive calligraphic style. His works have repeatedly participated in national and international calligraphy competitions, winning numerous awards, representing China abroad in calligraphy exhibitions and frequently receiving gold prizes. In the 2016 International Online Calligraphy Competition, he achieved seventh place (First Prize).
