An Kun, styled "Mochan Jushi". Graduated from Qufu Normal University. Guest instructor at the Calligraphy and Painting Association of North China University of Technology. Currently a member of Rizhao Municipal Artists Association, President of the Literature and Art Association of Wolongshan Subdistrict, Shanhaitian, Rizhao; Deputy Secretary-General of the Calligraphers Association of Rizhao Development Zone, and Researcher at the Wang Xizhi Academy of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy. A native of Shandong Province’s Rizhao City, he began painting from childhood under the influence of family tradition, studied under multiple mentors, learned from nature, inherited classical traditions, absorbed strengths from diverse sources, and gradually developed his own artistic style. His works have been published in various media and periodicals, exhibited repeatedly in national and provincial/municipal calligraphy and painting competitions, and received awards. In June 2006, his painting won the third prize in the “Harmonious Highway Cup” Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition commemorating the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. In January 2010, his works were included in The Dictionary of Chinese Calligraphers and Painters. In February 2010, he won the second prize in the Second “Chinese Painting, Painting Hometown” National Fine Arts and Calligraphy Competition. In September 2010, his traditional Chinese painting was selected for exhibition in the “Xunshan Menghai · Shenling Lake Cup” Second National Flower Painting and Calligraphy Competition and was collected; in the same September, his work was also selected for the Fourth “Sun Valley Cup” International Calligraphy and Painting Competition. In December 2010, he won the silver award in the Sixth “Zhonghua Cup” National Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition “Into Henan”, and received an Excellence Award in the “Chenxi Cup” Calligraphy and Painting Competition themed “Taxation · Development · Livelihood”.
