Chen Longqu, styled Shulong, was born in 1951 in Weifang, Shandong Province. He is currently the Vice President and Secretary-General of the Economic Zone Couplets Association of Weifang City, Shandong Province, a member of the Shandong Province Couplets Association, and the Honorary Chairman of the China Region of the World Artists Association of the United States.
Since childhood, he has been fond of calligraphy. In his spare time from work, he has diligently pursued and practiced hard. Starting with regular script, he has been devoted to the famous Tang and Song masters, focusing mainly on Yan style. He has studied deeply and widely, accumulating knowledge and skills gradually. By imitating and pondering over calligraphy models, his calligraphy skills have improved day by day. He lives by the principle of cultivating his character through calligraphy and enjoying the joy of creation. His works have been exhibited and won awards at national and provincial/municipal levels many times, and he actively participates in public welfare activities. His representative works include "Qinli Stele", "Thousand Character Text", and "Rolling Yangtze River Flows Eastward" from "Lingjiang Xian".
