Zhang Chi, renowned professional painter, owner of Muyuntang. Member of the Shandong Artists Association, Vice President of the Shandong Confucian Painting and Calligraphy Academy, and Vice Chairman of the Fine Arts Association of Jining National High-tech Zone, Shandong.
Zhang Chi, a native of Jinan, Shandong, was born into an artistic family and received excellent education and artistic cultivation from an early age. For decades since studying under his master, he has respected his teachers, sought wisdom from sages, and ceaselessly practiced brushwork, diligently copying numerous classical works from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. Through persistent imitation and sudden enlightenment, he absorbed strengths from various masters, establishing a solid foundation in traditional art. Later, he studied at the Shandong University of Art & Design and the Art Department of Qufu Normal University, receiving personal instruction from professors Gao Tianxiang and Xu Zheng of Qufu Normal University, as well as Professor Chen Yupu, doctoral supervisor at Nankai University in Tianjin. His artistic techniques are rooted in tradition yet boldly innovative, integrating contemporary spirit. His freehand landscape paintings exhibit ancient grandeur and vigor, with strong brushwork and fresh coloring, appealing to both refined and popular tastes; he is especially skilled in creating monumental landscape works, striving to reflect the spiritual rhythm of the new era. In recent years, his masterpieces have frequently appeared in domestic professional publications such as Hong Kong Satellite TV and Qilu Pictorial. His work "Qingyun Manwu Ru Hua Lai" was selected for the "China Painting and Calligraphy Hall of Fame" by Hong Kong Satellite TV in 2017. Some of his works are favored and collected by friends from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
