 Personal Profile

Wang Fatong, styled himself as Hongzhen Daoist (a cultivator dedicated to promoting truth and orthodox Daoist teachings), secular name Wang Shiqing, courtesy name Xuanyuan, also known as Lingxu Zi, is the 29th-generation inheritor of the Quanzhen Longmen Sect. He is a Daoist feng shui calligrapher and painter, Art Committee member of the Chinese Daoist Association’s Daoist Calligraphy and Painting Academy, National First-Class Artist, Senior Calligrapher, Vice President of the Chinese Daoist Feng Shui Calligraphy and Painting Academy, member of the Mount Tai Zhouyi Science Research Institute, and a contracted artist of the Confucius City Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute. Since childhood, Hongzhen Daoist has been deeply passionate about calligraphy, painting, and metaphysics. After becoming a Daoist monk, he resided for 13 years in the Sanwei Mountains of Gansu Dunhuang to practice cultivation. Through more than a decade of dedicated monastic practice, he realized that to transcend the mundane world, one must first engage with it—tempering one’s character amidst worldly affairs is the true path toward attaining supreme liberation from the cycle of birth and death. Just as the lotus must grow from muddy waters to bloom in purity, one who can maintain inner tranquility and composure amid complex environments is truly a transcendent hero beyond worldly concerns. Thus, in 2013, he returned to secular life and enrolled the same year in the China Television Calligraphy and Painting Correspondence University. In 2016, he graduated with outstanding results and obtained relevant certification (verifiable online at the Calligrapher Certificate Inquiry Website). In 2014, he formally apprenticed under Gong Peiyan, former chairman of the Tai’an Artists Association. Under Master Gong’s careful guidance, he absorbed deeper nourishment from traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting, further perfecting his feng shui artworks. Daoist feng shui calligraphy and painting, uniquely created by Hongzhen Daoist, integrates Daoist feng shui principles, talismanic arts, internal alchemy, qigong guidance, calligraphy, and painting into a singular form of practical art capable of warding off negative energies, dispelling disasters, attracting blessings, enhancing fortune and wealth, and guiding toward auspiciousness while avoiding misfortune. Through prolonged periods of secluded cultivation, he channels harmonious cosmic and natural energies between heaven, earth, and humanity into his artworks, imbuing them with a high level of harmonious energy (known in Daoism as Hunyuan Yiqi), thereby enabling them to transform feng shui energy fields and positively influence our lives by altering unfavorable fortunes. With the care and support of Yin Qingjun, President of the Zibo City Daoist Association in Shandong Province, the Chinese Daoist Feng Shui Calligraphy and Painting Academy was officially established in winter 2017, and he was appointed as its Vice President. In early autumn 2018, he was selected as an Art Committee member of the Chinese Daoist Association’s Daoist Calligraphy and Painting Academy.
