Personal Profile
Yang Ping, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Shandong Normal University. Senior Teacher of the China Calligraphers Association. Senior Lecturer of the China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association. Member of the Shandong Provincial Youth Calligraphers Association.  Since childhood, I have followed family teachings, initiated into the arts of brush, ink, paper, and inkstone by my father. In 1985, Mr. Wu Zhongqi founded the nation’s first calligraphy school in Jinan, with Mr. Zou Zhenya (President of the Shandong Calligraphers Association), Mr. Wei Qihou, and Mr. Chen Gengqiao serving as artistic advisors, aiming to cultivate professional calligraphy talents and ensure the inheritance of calligraphic art. I was fortunate to be admitted and studied under three esteemed mentors: Mr. Zhang Jinbai, Ms. Han Yanyan, and Mr. Fu Jingliang, forming lifelong friendships with them.Although achieving modest success, I always remember my mentors’ teachings—to live with integrity, work diligently, and pursue scholarship with tranquility.
My calligraphy works were selected for inclusion in the limited-edition commemorative stamp album “Belt and Road: Culture Leads the Way, Building the Chinese Dream Together,” issued by China Post in 2018. I was also highlighted as a key recommended young artist during the 2018 National Two Sessions. My literary works won the First Prize in the Fifth “Appointment in Beijing” National Literature and Art Competition.
