Personal Profile

Ning Fangtao, born in 1981 in Qingzhou, Shandong, studied successively at the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, the Graduate Course Class of the School of Arts, Peking University, and the Beijing Painting Academy. He studied under Mr. Wang Jieshan and Mr. Wang Wenfang, and during this period also received instruction from renowned artists such as Wang Mingming, He Jiaying, Li Xiang, and Du Dakai. His works have been exhibited in numerous art exhibitions both domestically and internationally and have been collected by academic institutions, government agencies, and private collectors in countries including Russia, Japan, the United States, Germany, Georgia, and Malaysia. Currently, he is a member of the China Nationalities Fine Arts Promotion Association, a painter at the Poetry, Wine and Calligraphy & Painting Academy under China’s Ministry of Culture, a member of the China Guodian Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Vice President of the China Cadres Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute, a National First-Class Artist, Art Director of Huangyi Cultural & Creative Industry (Beijing) Co., Ltd., a member of the Peking University Alumni Calligraphy and Painting Association, and a painter in the Wang Jieshan Mentor Studio at the School of Arts, Peking University. His works have been published in media such as China Cultural Daily, Art Newspaper, China Education Magazine, 2008 Contemporary Art Annual, and Songzhuang Artists’ Archives.
