Guan Shuo, born in May 1966 in Zhucheng, Shandong. Chairman of the Daming Jichang Workshop; Special Correspondent of "China Report" under the State Council Information Office; Calligrapher in the Art Talent Database of the Cultural Talent Center, Ministry of Culture and Tourism; Calligrapher in the China Cultural and Art Talents Database; Member of the Shandong Calligraphers Association; Vice President of the China Guan Zhong Calligraphy and Painting Academy; Vice President of the China Dongyi Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute. (Formerly: Member of the Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphers Association; Researcher at the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Talent Training Center; Director of the Contemporary Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphers Association; Member of the Art Committee of the Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphy Art Museum; Member of the Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphers Association; Member of the Chinese Modern Hard Pen Calligraphy Research Association; Senior Member of the China-Japan Friendship Hard Pen Calligraphers Association; Executive Director of the Guangxi Hard Pen Calligraphers Association; Member of the Shandong Hard Pen Calligraphers Association; Member of the Contemporary Young New Poets Association), etc.   Major Artistic Achievements:   In 1991, three works were exhibited in the joint exhibition of the geological and mining systems of five central-southern provinces.   January 1993: Won the Second Prize in the Second Red Army Cup National Calligraphy and Painting Competition.   December 1993: Selected for the Second Exhibition of New Artists and New Works in Chinese Calligraphy (organized by the Chinese Calligraphers Association).   April 2007: Selected for the National Calligraphy Exhibition Commemorating the 1359th Anniversary of Sun Guoting’s Birth.   June 2007: Won the First Prize in the Zhonghua Cup National Calligraphers and Painters Invitational Competition.     June 2007: Won the Gold Prize in the Youth Category of the Second National Calligraphy and Painting Competition “Chinese Art Talents Award”.   July 2007: Won the First Prize in the “Chinese Style” World Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Competition.   October 2015: Won the Most Popular Award in the Shandong TV Calligraphy Competition Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of Victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan.   September 2017: Selected as an Influential Artist on the 2017 China Good Brand List.   November 2017: His calligraphy work was awarded First Prize in the National Outstanding Literary and Art Works Evaluation Activity “Responding to the Call of the 19th CPC National Congress, Practicing the Great Chinese Dream”.   November 2017: Selected for inclusion in the philatelic album “Contemporary Chinese Masters of Art and Their Masterpieces” commemorating “Remain True to Our Original Aspiration and Keep Moving Forward, Celebrating the 19th CPC National Congress”.   November 2017: Featured on postage stamps of the United States, France, the Netherlands, and in a philatelic album representing five countries worldwide.   December 2017: Invited to attend the “China Pride 2017 Influential Figures in Calligraphy and Painting Ceremony and State Banquet” hosted by CCTV, and awarded the honorary title of “China Pride 2017 Virtuous and Talented Calligrapher/Painter”.   December 2017: Inscribed the phrase “The Land Is as Beautiful as a Painting” for the New Great Wall of China; his inscription and biography were engraved on the New Great Wall at Badaling, Beijing.   Personality of the Year 2017.   December 2017: Included in the Art (Calligraphy) Talent Database of the Cultural Talent Center, Ministry of Culture and Tourism.   2018: Participated in the National Masters Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition “Belt and Road, Walking Together”.   May 2018: Recorded in the China Cultural and Art Talents Database by the China Cultural and Art Talents Management Center.   2018: Key Recommended Artist for the National Two Sessions.   His works are collected by institutions such as the National Museum of Chinese History, the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army Memorial Hall, the Work Committee for Collecting Works Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Mao Zedong’s Birth under the Ministry of Culture, and the Yishui Museum. He has won over a hundred awards in various calligraphy competitions. He has written mastheads for publications such as “Liaoning Youth”, “Geology and Mineral Resources Newspaper”, and “Land and Resources Herald – Qilu Style”. His works have been published in newspapers including “Calligraphy News”, “Youth Calligraphy News”, “Chinese Calligraphy and Painting News”, “China Geology News”, “China Land and Resources News”, “Land and Resources Herald”, “Geology and Mineral Resources Newspaper”, “Qilu Evening News”, “Linyi Radio and Television Newspaper”, “Qilu Style Literary Newspaper”, “Da Beifang”, and others.
