  Sun Chuanhai, styled "Kushi Shanren," was born in 1962 in Yangzhou, a city renowned for its historical and cultural heritage. He has dedicated over thirty years to the excavation, research, and creation of pyrography art. He is a renowned contemporary pyrography artist, National First-Class Artist, representative inheritor of China’s intangible cultural heritage in pyrography, and a master of pyrography art. Currently, he serves as Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the (Preparatory) Chinese Pyrography Artists Association, Art Consultant of the Chinese Pyrography Art Research Institute, Painter at China Education Television’s Ink and Watercolor Painting Academy, Guest Painter at Poly Art Center, and specially appointed painter at China Taishan Landscape Painting Academy. His work “Flying Heavenly Charm” won the Silver Award (Gold Award vacant) in the 2016 National “Golden Phoenix Cup” Pyrography Competition. His works have been repeatedly collected and published as a series of postage stamps by China Post. His pyrography piece “Ancient Tea Horse Road” is collected as a first-class artifact by the Oriental Art Museum in China.Hong Kong.
