Personal Profile

Yuan Yadong, styled Yixuan, also known as the Master of Jingyi Studio, was born in 1978 in Shandong Zoucheng. He is currently a member of the China Calligraphy Artists Association, Vice President of Mencius Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and Director of Yufengxuan Art Museum. Passionate about calligraphy since childhood, he inherited family traditions and has devoted over thirty years to unremitting practice, establishing profound brushwork skills. He excels in regular script, clerical script, and running script, combining traditional inheritance with contemporary innovation, truly embodying the aesthetic principle of “learning from the ancients without being bound by them,” and promoting tradition while innovating.
  Main Achievements: In 2012, he was awarded one of the "Top 100 Calligraphers of Chinese Longevity Culture" in the national calligraphy and fine arts exhibition themed “Chinese Longevity Culture.” In September 2012, he received the “Nomination Award for Top 100 Couplets and Ink Masters” at the 3rd National Couplet Calligraphy and Seal Carving Competition. In 2013, he was awarded the “Chinese Plum Blossom Art Prize” and First Prize in Calligraphy Creation at the 4th National “Poetry, Calligraphy, Painting, and Seal” Four Arts Competition themed “Plum Blossom Announcing Spring.” In 2013, he received the “Nomination Award for Top 100 Clerical Script Calligraphers” in the “Clerical Script Cup” Calligraphy Competition organized by Calligraphy Masters Magazine. In 2014, he won the Second Prize in the Calligraphy and Fine Arts Category at the citywide Safety Month Poetry and Couplet Collection Event. In 2016, he won the Second Prize at the 3rd Mengmu Cup Calligraphy Competition. In 2018, he participated in the 2nd Mainland and Hong Kong Cultural Tourism Festival and received an Excellence Award in the Calligraphy Category.
