Wang Yuming, male, Han ethnicity, styled Zhaochang, also known as Wuanzhai Master and Xianyun Yehe, was born in 1990 in Shandong Binzhou. He is a member of the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, a member of the Chinese Couplet Society, a Chinese National Gift Artist, a member of the Shandong Chenlong Calligraphy and Painting Academy, a member of the Binzhou Calligraphers Association, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Zhanhua District Calligraphy and Painting Research Association. He has received guidance from Professor Ji Dexiu, former editor-in-chief of Binzhou Daily and student of Qi Gong, as well as Master Cui Bingjie, the 32nd-generation successor of Shaolin Temple. On the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up, he was hailed as a leading figure in contemporary Chinese calligraphy. He also serves as Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee for the first national “Golden Key Cup” Filial Piety and Virtue Culture Calligraphy and Painting Competition.
Yuming inherited a family tradition of calligraphy and developed a deep passion for it from childhood. He began studying calligraphy at age 9, initially learning Ouyang Xun’s regular script, then extensively copying stele inscriptions and scrolls of various masters, absorbing the strengths of many schools, with particular mastery in running and cursive scripts. For twenty years, he has remained true to his original aspiration, practicing calligraphy diligently every day regardless of weather or season. His works demonstrate profound skill and exquisite technique, deeply rooted in ancient traditions yet innovative and distinctive in style. His calligraphy has won the Second Prize in the Third “Calligraphy and Painting Masters” National Competition; received an exhibition award in the “Confucian Civilization Art – National Masters of Calligraphy and Painting”; and earned a Bronze Award in the “Chinese Filial Piety and Virtue Culture Calligraphy and Painting Competition.” He has been praised by senior regional calligraphy masters as “the young phoenix’s voice surpassing the old.”
