Wang Chengchun (born in 1968—), male, styled Tian Shui, nicknamed "Old Driver," studio name Hai Yi Xuan, native of Xujia Store, Haiyang, Shandong. Currently serves as Deputy Secretary-General of the Calligraphers Association of Weihai Lingang District, renowned calligrapher of China’s Good Brand, calligrapher for People’s Daily Online, Charity Ambassador of Xingxing Love Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Charity Ambassador of Oriental Chu Shuai, Key Recommended Calligrapher and Painter for the 2018 National Two Sessions, and Invited Calligrapher and Painter of New York Gallery, USA. Also serves as Vice President of the Weihai Branch of the Chinese Volunteers Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Chief Commander of the Yantai Creation Base of Tianciyuan International Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and Senior Examiner of the National Primary and Secondary Students’ Comprehensive Quality Level Evaluation Center.
Since childhood, influenced by his family, he has been passionately fond of calligraphy and painting, always regarding calligraphy as a major spiritual pleasure and hobby. For decades, he has persistently practiced copying famous works by masters such as Ouyang Xun, Yan Zhenqing, Zhao Mengfu, and Wang Xizhi, as well as imperial calligraphers. While absorbing nourishment from ancient masters, he also studies and imitates works by modern masters such as Fan Zeng, Qi Gong, Ouyang Zhongshi, and Zhao Yuting, learning their essence. His calligraphic style never seeks eccentricity but rather embraces the natural and spontaneous charm. He excels in running-regular script and running-cursive script and has considerable research in seal carving. He frequently donates calligraphy works for charitable causes, and his works have often been invited for exhibitions and collections.
