Personal Profile

Liu Shuchun, female, born in May 1968 in Shandong Rongcheng. Currently a member of the China International Calligraphy and Painting Academy, National First-Class Artist, and Academician of the Beijing Huaxia Lanting Calligraphy and Painting Academy. Passionate about painting since childhood, she studied flower-and-bird painting and calligraphy under Mr. Wang Zhengshan, Academician of Beijing Huaxia Lanting Calligraphy and Painting Academy and Academician of China Junbin Calligraphy and Painting Academy. Later, she studied flower-and-bird and landscape painting under Professor Peng Yongjun, researcher at the Chinese National Academy of Arts, Council Member of the Chinese Painters Association, and Academician of the Chinese Elderly Education Calligraphy and Painting Academy. She consistently practices copying works of ancient painters, absorbing diverse influences and accumulating broad knowledge, integrating modern ink spirit into her work while grasping the essence of traditional art. Many of her works have been collected by the Rongcheng Women and Children’s Activity Center, and have been exhibited multiple times at the Rongcheng Museum and Rongcheng Cultural Products Exhibition Center. She participated in the “Golden Key Cup” Chinese Filial Piety and Virtue Culture Painting and Calligraphy Competition, and her ink painting “Autumn Melody” won the third prize. In the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of New China “Ode to the Motherland” National Calligraphy and Painting Competition, her work “Great Fortune and Prosperity” won the gold award! In 2019, she participated in the “Chinese Sons and Daughters” National Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Masterpieces Competition, and her work “Auspiciousness from the East, Good Fortune and Happiness” won the gold award. In the same year, she participated in the “Ode to Great Leaders” National Calligraphy and Painting Competition, and her work “Bamboo and Sparrow” won the silver award.
