			Yan Xiaoping, courtesy name Yiming, pseudonym Changbaishan, is a literati painter and art critic. She specializes in landscapes of Changbai Mountain, is a disciple of Sun Dashí, a second-generation inheritor of Li Kuchan, and a successor of the Qi School.

			     Her landscape paintings are majestic, bold, and profound; her small works are elegant and exquisite, expressing the unique natural features of Changbai Mountain and the cultural characteristics of the Korean ethnic group in Yanbian. Through her distinctive perspective and artistic philosophy, she has won the favor of collectors worldwide. Having painted for many years at Dongliuli Factory, she is known as a disseminator of Eastern culture. Her biography has been translated into 35 languages, and her works are collected by artists and friends around the world. She has served as a cultural ambassador to countries including Japan and Singapore.
		
			 
		
			     In 1992, her work was selected for the China-Japan Diplomatic Relations Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition and collected by Japanese friends.
		
			 
		
			     In 1993, "Lady under Banana Tree" was selected for the National Painting and Calligraphy Friendship Exhibition (Hebei-Beijing Joint Exhibition) and won third prize.
		
			 
		
			    In 1998, the works "Honghao Striking the Clouds" and "Peaceful Dwelling" were preliminarily selected for the Second National Fine Brushwork Flower-and-Bird Painting Exhibition.
		
			 
		
			     In 1999, she became an inner-disciple of Sun Dashí and a second-generation inheritor of Li Kuchan.
		
			 
		
			     In 1999, she was admitted to the Chinese Painting Artists Class at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
		
			 
		
			     In March 2000, she held a solo painting and calligraphy exhibition in Jinan, Shandong.
		
			 
		
			     In April 2002, "Friendship Endures Forever" was selected for the China-Japan Ink Painting Exchange Exhibition.
		
			 
		
			     In 2004, she held a painting and calligraphy report exhibition at the Sun Dashí Art Museum.
		
			 
		
			     In 2006, Beijing Guopai Auction House held a special auction专场 for her landscape works, auctioning 19 pieces.
