Jiang Desheng

       Jiang Desheng, male, born in 1940 in Matou Town, Tancheng County. Passionate about calligraphy and painting since childhood, he studied at Feixian Normal School in 1955 under the tutelage of renowned calligrapher and painter Mr. Gao Gongyu. In 1986, he furthered his studies in the Chinese Painting Department of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Correspondence University, learning landscape painting from Professor Zhang Yanqing and flower-and-bird painting from Master Xu Zhan, a renowned Chinese flower-and-bird painter. In 1989, he graduated with honors, achieving an average score of 92.6. He began his teaching career in 1958 and retired in 1993 from Tancheng No. 3 Middle School after more than 30 years of teaching fine arts.

       After retirement, he devoted himself even more wholeheartedly to the study of calligraphy and painting, never ceasing to create. His works exhibit a vivid, semi-freehand style rich in ink and color. He has participated in numerous national, provincial, and municipal calligraphy and painting exhibitions, as well as charity auctions and cultural outreach activities to rural areas, earning widespread admiration and acclaim from all walks of life.

       Currently, he is a member of the China National Artists Association, the China Senior Calligraphy and Painting Research Association, the China Couplet Writers Association, Vice Chairman of the Yimeng Branch of the World Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, Executive Vice Dean of the China Longtu Huanyu Calligraphy and Painting Academy, member of the Linyi Municipal Artists Association, member of the Linyi Municipal Poetry Association, Director of the Tancheng County Writers Association, and Director of the Tancheng County Calligraphy and Painting Research Association.
       In 1989, his work was published in China Calligraphy and Painting Newspaper;
       In 2014, he won the First Prize in the 2nd "Ode to Great Leaders · Chinese Dream" National Poetry, Prose and Calligraphy-Painting Competition;
       In 2015, his work "Autumn of the 70th Anniversary of Victory in the War of Resistance" received the Second Prize at the "Commemorative Exhibition of Calligraphy, Painting and Photography for the 70th Anniversary of Victory in the War of Resistance and the 2nd Humanities and Arts Competition of the Social Sciences Community," co-hosted by the Shandong Provincial Federation of Social Science Associations and Shandong University of Arts;
       In 2016, his work "Wealth and Auspiciousness" received an Excellence Award in the Shandong Provincial Fine Arts Competition and was successfully auctioned for 51,000 RMB at the Jinan Hongren Ink-and-Color Famous Artists Auction Special;
       In 2017, he won the Bronze Award in the 5th National "Chinese Dream Cup" Calligraphy and Painting Competition and was awarded the honorary title of "Outstanding Artist for the Chinese Dream in Calligraphy and Painting";
       In 2018, he ranked 25th in the national "Liuqin Cup" Couplet Competition and received an Excellence Award.
