Ding Degang, pen names Ding Xuanhai and Zhiyuan, was born in Shandong Dongying, a member of the Communist Party of China. Passionate about painting since childhood, his artistic subjects are broad and diverse, covering landscapes, figures, flowers and birds, excelling in both freehand brushwork and large-scale compositions, particularly renowned for ink-wash freehand style and monumental works. Since 2004, nearly one hundred of his paintings and calligraphic works have been exhibited; some have been collected by multiple art institutions and private collectors.
