Zhang Lintang, male, Han ethnicity, courtesy name: Moyuan, studio name: Master of Yuelian Hall, born in 1967 in Linyi, Shandong, the hometown of Wang Xizhi. Passionate about calligraphy since childhood, he has devoted decades to diligent study and extensive exchanges within the calligraphy community, earning widespread recognition and acclaim. Over the years, he has persistently practiced brushwork, integrating life into art and expressing life through art, creating a large number of outstanding works that have received consistent praise from society and enthusiastic admiration from collectors. Participated in exhibitions for China’s Double Ninth Festival with works published in anthologies; won Excellent Award in Linyi Jingshilì Cup; Second Prize in Linyi “Jinshi Cup”; Excellent Work Award in China Art Competition; Second Prize in “Langya Cup” National Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Elite Competition; entered into China Cultural and Art Talents Database with official certification; six times selected for national commemorative stamp artist series and issued; works engraved on China’s New Great Wall, awarded title of New Great Wall Artist. In June 2018, won Gold Prize in the 2nd National “Zhonghua Cup”; in August 2018, appointed as Special Artist by Yilianwang with certificate, actively participating in domestic and international calligraphy exchange activities. In September 2018, won Third Prize and Best Popularity Award (double awards) in Linyi Yuantong Calligraphy and Painting Competition; in 2019, his work “Soul of Art” won Second Prize in the New Year Celebration organized by the World Artists Association (China Region), with honor certificate and appointment letter issued, and the work collected by the association. Won Gold Prize in the First National Exhibition of New Literati Fine Art, simultaneously awarded the honorary titles of “Top 100 Chinese Calligraphers” and “China Art Wealth Figure.” His calligraphy character “Buddha” auctioned in Beijing at 5,000 RMB per piece; collected by Master Shijuehai of Wutai Mountain, Shanxi, at Laiwu Auction; his long scroll calligraphy of Wang Xizhi’s Seventeen Posts auctioned in Beijing for 32,000 RMB, collected by corporate leader Zhang Jian; calligraphy works collected by individuals and institutions in African countries, Indonesia, Benin, USA, South Korea, Japan, etc. In 2019, his work “One Belt One Road: Sino-European Imagery” was selected for art postage stamps issued in four countries (France, Germany, Netherlands, Austria). In 2019, his 2019-meter-long scroll was awarded the Guinness World Record with honor certificate.
