 Li Qingyun, male, Han ethnicity, born in 1937, native of Zhangyao, Linqing, Shandong, styled Runsheng, member of the Communist Party of China. Passionate about calligraphy, poetry, and music since childhood, especially devoted to calligraphy; proficient in all four script styles with emphasis on running-cursive script, also skilled in charcoal painting. Graduated in 1991 from the Correspondence College of Shandong Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, majoring in calligraphy. For many years, he has conducted in-depth research on the ink works of ancient masters. His works have repeatedly participated in and won awards at national, provincial, regional, and municipal painting and calligraphy competitions. His biography and works have been included in publications such as “Complete Collection of Chinese Calligraphy,” “Dictionary of Shandong and Qilu Calligraphers and Painters,” “Selection of Ink Works by Contemporary Calligraphers and Painters,” and “Collection of Masterpieces by Renowned Contemporary Calligraphers and Painters.” In September 2001, he held a personal painting and calligraphy exhibition at the Zhang Zizhong Memorial Hall in Linqing. In 1990, he was selected to participate in the “Xizhi Cup” championship competition organized by the Chinese Contemporary Farmers’ Wang Xizhi and Yan Zhenqing Calligraphy Research Association. In 1992, he received an Excellence Award in the national “Phoenix Cup” Painting and Calligraphy Art Competition. In 1993, his work was collected by the Committee for Collecting Selected Chinese Calligraphy Works Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Mao Zedong’s Birth. In 1996, he was selected for inclusion in the book “Selection of Ink Works by Contemporary Calligraphers and Painters” commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Long March of the Red Army. In July 1998, his work was included in the book “Collection of Masterpieces by Renowned Contemporary Calligraphers and Painters,” published by China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and awarded First Prize. In April 2000, his work was selected for inclusion in the “Chinese Nation’s 20th Century Painting and Calligraphy Scroll” and incorporated into the monumental authoritative publications “Centennial Classics – Complete Collection of Chinese Fine Arts” and “Centennial Classics – Complete Collection of Chinese Calligraphy.” In 2001, his work won an Excellence Award at the “First China Senior Citizens’ Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition” hosted by the China Senior Citizens’ Painting and Calligraphy Research Association. In September 2007, his work received an Inclusion Award in the “Ode to China” National Painting and Calligraphy Competition hosted by the China Southern Academy of Painting and Calligraphy. He has also obtained the 2000 Online Evaluation Value Certificate issued by the Art Quality Department of the Cultural Market Development Center under the Ministry of Culture. Currently, he serves as a member of the Linqing Couplet Association, Director of the Linqing Calligraphy Association, Vice President of the Linqing Farmers’ Association, Vice President of the Linqing Senior Citizens’ Association, member of the Liaocheng Senior Citizens’ Association, member of the Liaocheng Farmers’ Association, and member of the Shandong Senior Citizens’ Painting and Calligraphy Research Association.
