Gao Feng, style name Hanlin Caotang, born in 1959, is a native of Jinan, Shandong, and a renowned contemporary calligrapher. He currently serves as Vice President of the Shandong Provincial Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, President of the Zhongcheng Association of Jinan Small and Medium Enterprise Federation, Member of the Shandong Calligraphers Association, and Vice President of the Shandong Red Calligraphy and Painting Academy.
Gao Feng has been passionate about calligraphy since childhood. After starting his career, he devoted his spare time to copying classic masterpieces by renowned calligraphers throughout history. For decades, he has persisted in this practice, primarily focusing on the works of Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan, which laid the foundation for his current mastery of running and cursive scripts. During this time, he received enthusiastic guidance from contemporary masters such as Wang Liangxuan, Qian Zhenchen, Lü Defang, and Zhu Zhenqi, greatly enhancing his brushwork and deepening his artistic foundation. He is currently studying under the esteemed Mao-style calligrapher Master Zhang Zhonghai. His calligraphy has since become even more refined and structurally robust. After years of dedicated research and drawing inspiration from diverse sources while cultivating his own style, his works have become graceful, vigorous, and highly aesthetic. In recent years, his pieces have been collected by numerous government departments, state-owned enterprises, private entrepreneurs, and international calligraphy enthusiasts.
