Personal Profile

Ma Mingliang, male. Courtesy name: Xin'an. Pen name: Liu Chonglan; formerly known as Liu Qingliang. Born in 1977 in Anqiu City, Shandong Province. Passionate about calligraphy since childhood, he studied traditional styles, practiced diligently by copying ancient steles and famous calligraphic works. During his time working in Weifang, he studied under Ji Jun. His works were exhibited in the municipal government building during his studies. He won the Excellence Award in the 1998 Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Competition, the Second Prize in the Third Youth Cup National Calligraphy Competition in 1998, and was included in the “Selected Works of National Youth Calligraphy.” In 2019, he received the Creativity Award in the Yingchun Cup National Calligraphy Competition. He currently serves as a council member of Qingzhou Calligraphy Association and President of Lingyun Academy in Anqiu City.
