Personal Profile

Ma Dian, Han ethnicity, born in 1963 in Linyi, the hometown of Wang Xizhi, Shandong. Graduated from university and engaged in education. Studied landscape painting under Zhao Qijun, a representative figure of the Yimeng School; an indoor disciple of Yu Zhixue, founder of the Ice-Snow Painting School; and the most favored student of Li Zhendong, a prominent general of the Ice-Snow Painting School. In 2017, specially appointed as "Art Director" by Sotheby's Cultural Art Development Center. In 2018, awarded the title "Most Promising Chinese Painter" at the "New Era, New Future, Zhenji Cup". In the same year, received the "Excellence Award" at the National Calligraphy and Painting Art Competition organized by Huaxia Celebrity List, and also won the "Excellence Award" at the 8th Calligraphy and Painting Competition hosted by China Art Network. His works are frequently collected by domestic and international collectors. Contracted artist with Dongnan Art & Culture Media Co., Ltd. in Hong Kong, Deputy Dean and full-time painter at Qiwenzhai Calligraphy and Painting Academy in Linyi. Member of Jinan Lixia District Artists Association and member of Heihe Ice-Snow Research Association.
