Personal Profile
Wang Zhengshan, courtesy name Zhongyue, was born in November 1952 in Jiayuwang Village, Rongcheng City, Shandong Province.
A member of the Communist Party of China, with a university education, he taught for nearly 40 years and served as principal of an elementary school, head of a middle school department, secretary of the town’s education Youth League committee, chief counselor of the Young Pioneers, preschool education counselor, and chairman of the labor union. He was awarded the title of “Shandong Province Outstanding Young Pioneers Counselor.” Now retired, he currently serves as an art and calligraphy instructor at the Rongcheng City Women and Children’s Activity Center. He has received numerous honors including “National Outstanding Calligraphy Instructor,” “Chinese Red Artist,” “2016 National Advanced Worker in Literature and Art,” “Leading Figure in Contemporary Chinese Literature and Art,” “Outstanding Talent in Contemporary Fine Arts and Calligraphy,” “Red Artist Promoting Mao Zedong Thought,” “World Record Creator Wang Fuzhi Award Outstanding Artist,” “2018 National Advanced Figure in Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting,” “Heritage Artist,” “Outstanding Artist of the New Era,” and “Outstanding Artist for Calligraphy and Painting the Chinese Dream.”
His works have been included in publications such as “Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese Art Figures,” “Oriental Beauty: National Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Masters Collection,” “National Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Masters Collection,” “Ode to Rivers and Mountains: National Poetry, Calligraphy, Painting and Seal Carving Masterpieces,” “Eastern Red: Mao Zedong Poetry National Calligraphy and Painting Competition Award-Winning Works Collection,” “National Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition Commemorating the 20th Anniversary of Hong Kong’s Return,” “Annual Selection of National Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Works,” and “International Masters Calligraphy and Painting Joint Exhibition Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening-up and the 26th Anniversary of China-Korea Diplomatic Relations.”
