Personal Profile

Tian Yundong, male, born in December 1965, is a member of the Shandong Artists Association, an instructor at the Retirees University of Beijing Second Comprehensive Service and Support Center, an instructor at the Retirees University of Armored Forces Academy, a visiting professor at North China University of Technology, an externally hired instructor at Fengtai Community College, a council member of Beijing Shizhu Cultural Research Institute, and a council member of Beijing Yanqing Zerun Calligraphy and Painting Academy. Tian Yundong specializes in traditional Chinese painting, including meticulous brushwork (gongbi), freehand-style (xieyi) flower-and-bird painting, and figure painting. His works are characterized by exquisite brushwork and ink technique, vivid and expressive, and are deeply loved by numerous painting and calligraphy enthusiasts. Many of his works have been collected by friends both domestically and internationally. His artworks have been featured in publications such as China Art Market Newspaper, Beijing Tourism Magazine, Guangming Daily, and the electronic edition of Minsheng Daily. To promote traditional Chinese culture and preserve China’s intangible cultural heritage—the fan culture—he founded “Yundong Gallery” in Liulichang Ancient Cultural Street, where he creates palace fans, folding fans, and artistic fans, and teaches students. Since November 2015, Tian Yundong has served as a Chinese painting instructor at Fengtai Community College, primarily teaching Chinese painting, gongbi, xieyi flower-and-bird painting, and figure painting. He has conducted teaching activities in five communities, mainly through lectures, face-to-face instruction, and guidance, imparting fundamental knowledge of Chinese painting, helping students master painting techniques, appreciate the charm of Chinese painting, enhance cultural confidence, and elevate their cultural and artistic taste. Passionate about Chinese painting education, Teacher Tian Yundong’s rich and diverse teaching style and affable personality have earned high praise from community leaders and students. In 2016, he was honored as an Outstanding Teacher by the General Armament Department.
