Zhang Xiuyan, born in the land of Qilu, the hometown of Confucius and Mencius, has loved painting since childhood.

Currently appointed as an advisor for Star Avenue, member of the China Cultural and Art Talents Database, director of the China Guoyi People’s Calligraphy and Painting Academy, member of the Asian Calligraphers Association, vice president of the Great Love China Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Institute, director of the China Calligraphy and Painting Masters Association,academician of Jixiang Calligraphy and Painting,director of Linzhou Guoxing Culture Communication Center, vice chairman of Beijing Tiandi Talents Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Beijing, art consultant of Tianjin China-Korea Cultural Exchange Association, director of China Voice Calligraphy and Painting Academy, academician of Harmonious China Calligraphy and Painting Academy, assistant secretary-general of State Gift Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and assistant president of Qianshanyuan Calligraphy and Painting Academy.
She specializes in painting fish. Her large fish emphasize momentum, strength, expression, texture, and lively charm, conveying auspiciousness and joy. Bold and rich in color, especially in red and purple, her palette is daring and weighty yet never garish; her small fish either glide freely, leap and tumble, rest contentedly, or play joyfully in schools. Her brushwork is precise, combining form and spirit with fresh, vivid imagery and expressive grace. Developing from tradition, she has gradually formed her own distinctive style.

Her works have frequently participated in national large-scale calligraphy and painting exhibitions, winning numerous awards and receiving unanimous acclaim from experts, scholars, and recognition from all sectors of society. They are collected by party and government agencies at all levels, international and domestic friends, entrepreneurs, and social celebrities. She regularly participates in various public welfare and charitable activities and has been awarded the title of “Harmony Envoy.”
