Personal Profile

Zheng Yunlai, styled Qiulai, was born on January 28, 1950, in Linyi, Shandong Province. He graduated from the Shandong Academy of Fine Arts. He is the master of Qingmo Studio and a visiting professor at the Senior University.

Currently holds the following positions:
Member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association;
Member of the Shandong Provincial Artists Association;
Member of the Shandong Calligraphers Association;
Member of the Linyi Municipal Artists Association;
Member of the Linyi Calligraphers Association.

Has loved calligraphy since childhood and practiced diligently without interruption. Primarily focuses on calligraphy, landscape, and bird-and-flower painting, having practiced seal script, regular script, running script, and cursive script.
His works feature vigorous yet graceful strokes, bold and dynamic forms. Possessing solid foundational skills, he creates refined masterpieces, adept at absorbing the artistic essence of predecessors, respecting tradition without being bound by it, persisting in innovation, and gradually forming his own distinctive style. His works have been collected by many domestic and international friends.

Won First Prize in the 1997 Hong Kong Reunification Calligraphy Competition, First Prize in the 2002 Landscape “Magnificent Rivers and Mountains” competition, First Prize in the 2005 Bird-and-Flower Painting competition, and so on.
