       Zhao Jinhua: A renowned Chinese calligrapher, cultural and artistic celebrity, calligraphy critic, calligraphy theorist, and national senior calligraphy artist with a high-level professional title in Chinese culture (senior professional qualification certificate). Born in 1969 in Laoling City, Shandong Province, he currently resides in Beijing. He graduated from Nanjing Army Command College of the People's Liberation Army with a bachelor’s degree. Vice Chairman of the National Calligraphy and Painting Art Committee, member of the Calligraphers Association of Central State Organs, member of the China Calligraphers Association, member of the Chinese Couplet Society, council member of the "Couplet and Ink Art Newspaper" under the Chinese Couplet Society, member of the Calligraphy Art Research Institute of the Chinese Couplet Society, member of the Chinese Calligraphers and Artists Association, member of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Federation of Literature and Art Calligraphers Association, professor at the Chinese Yanhuang Culture Research Association, pioneer figure of the New Silk Road, honored as one of China's 2015 Innovative Cultural Figures. Deputy Director of the Painting and Calligraphy Professional Committee of the Mass Culture Society of the Ministry of Culture, advisor and art committee member of the China Taoist Association’s Painting and Calligraphy Academy, member of the China Mao Zedong Poetry and Calligraphy Research Association, member of the Fangshan District Calligraphers and Painters Association in Beijing, art advisor and professor at Beijing Modern Management University, among others. In 1987, he won an excellence award in the National Science and Technology News Cup Calligraphy Competition marking the 40th anniversary of the founding of the PRC; the same year, his works were selected for inclusion in *Selected Works of Contemporary Calligraphers* published by Yellow River Publishing House. In 1990, he was admitted into the first group of members of the Laoling City Calligraphers Association in Shandong Province. Mr. Zhao Jinhua is modest and low-key, having devoted himself to studying calligraphy diligently in his spare time over the past 40 years without seeking publicity. In 2013, he was rated as a National First-Class Calligrapher by the Ministry of Culture, with his calligraphy works priced at 36,000 RMB per square chi. In 2015, he was recognized by the National Cultural Soft Power Research Collaborative Innovation Center as a "Pioneer of the New Silk Road – China's 2015 Innovative Cultural Figure." In the same year, his calligraphic creation of the character “寿” (*shòu*, meaning longevity) was protected by the China Copyright Protection Center. On October 10, 2016, the Chinese Ink Art Research Institute and Modern Management University jointly held a successful calligraphy art seminar for Mr. Zhao Jinhua in Beijing. On January 22, 2017, the Beijing Charity Association featured Mr. Zhao’s artistic achievements and charitable contributions in a special event at Chang’an Grand Theater, where Mr. Zhao delivered a speech and inscribed: “Carry forward traditional Chinese virtues and promote public welfare and charity.” In October 2017, he graced the cover of the Ministry of Culture’s *Cultural Monthly* as a representative figure who roots his work among the people and carries on the theme of “longevity.” In 2017, some of Mr. Zhao’s calligraphy works were included in the special theme publication *China Stamp Album* commemorating the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and were issued as postage stamps by China Post. On January 1, 2018, *China Cultural Daily*, the official newspaper of the Ministry of Culture, dedicated a full page to report on Zhao Jinhua under the title “With Country in Heart, Brushstrokes Spanning the Universe.” In April 2018, his works were compiled into *Figures in the Inheritance of Chinese Art* published by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Publishing House, for which he also wrote the cover inscription. On January 20, 2018, Mr. Zhao presented his original work “花好月圆人长寿” (“May flowers bloom beautifully, the moon be full, and people live long”) together with Gu Xiulian, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, to Secretary Huang Huang and Lieutenant General Xu Shouzeng at the New Year gathering for retired generals and senior officials in central government organs. On April 24, 2018, Mr. Zhao was awarded the Special Prize by Qinghai Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Qinghai Provincial Committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association during their exhibition celebrating the 70th anniversary of the CPC’s issuance of the “May 1st Slogan.” In January 2019, his works were collected by Diaoyutai State Guesthouse and presented as state gifts to various dignitaries attending the military parade. Also in January 2019, he co-published the book *Contemporary Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Masters* with Su Shishu, chairman of the China Calligraphers Association. In March 2019, Mr. Zhao was honored with the title of “Special Contribution Figure at the Two Sessions.” In April 2019, his nationally copyrighted calligraphic work of the character “寿” and his porcelain plate artwork titled “花好月圆人长寿” were permanently collected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. In July 2019, Mr. Zhao was conferred the title of Cultural Ambassador of China-Sierra Leone Friendship by the Republic of Sierra Leone. On November 1, 2019, Mr. Zhao was specially invited as a guest on Jilin Satellite TV’s program *Gathering Stars Together*. On January 30, 2020, Mr. Zhao actively responded to and participated in the initiative launched by the Party Leadership Group of the China Artists Association titled “An Open Letter to All Artists and Art Workers Across the Nation,” using his artistic creations to express solidarity with the people in epidemic-stricken areas and frontline medical workers under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, demonstrating determination to fight and overcome the pandemic. His efforts were reported by China Art Network and numerous other national authoritative media outlets.      Mr. Zhao Jinhua is a master calligrapher who learns from tradition yet transforms it creatively. He not only draws profound inspiration from ancient steles and calligraphic models but also seeks innovation through contemporary influences. Possessing exceptional skills, he simultaneously holds a grand vision of promoting moral and cultural values.
