Zhang Liangtian, styled Sangyuan, also known as Bichi Mountain Hermit and Yunhai Yisheng. Born in 1949 in Daotian Town, Shouguang City, Shandong Province. Holds a university education. Has loved calligraphy since childhood. Studied successively under renowned calligraphers Chen Yanyu, Chen Zongzhao, Guan Shuiyue, and other senior calligraphy masters in Weifang, receiving their meticulous instruction. Practiced regular script by copying Yan Zhenqing’s Duobao Pagoda Stele and the epitaph of Bu Xuyi; Zhao Mengfu’s Shouchuntang. Practiced small regular script by copying Zhong Shaojing’s Lingfei Jing. Practiced small seal script by copying Qin Li Si’s Kuaiji Stele and Qing Dynasty Deng Shiru’s Thousand Character Classic in small seal script. Practiced running script by copying Wang Xizhi’s Lanting Xu and Shengjiao Xu, among other celebrated models. Currently a member of the Weifang Calligraphy and Painting Research Association and Vice President of the Weifang Oriental Calligraphy and Painting Academy. His works have been exhibited multiple times in exhibitions organized by municipal cultural departments and have received favorable reviews.
