 Liu Yu (renowned contemporary Chinese calligrapher); Member of the China Calligraphers Association; Member of the Shandong Provincial Calligraphers Association; National First-Class Calligraphy Artist; Member of the China Bangshu Calligraphers Association.
Liu Yu: Born in 1957, member of the China Calligraphers Association, National First-Class Calligraphy Artist, and specially appointed calligrapher for state guest gifts.
Has been passionate about calligraphy since childhood, practiced copying works of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi, as well as Huai Su, especially excels in Qi Gong style, Banqiao style, and Mao Zedong style, gradually developing his own literary and artistic style. His works are bold, grand, natural, and exhibit distinctive personal characteristics, offering viewers a refreshing experience.
In March 2014, his calligraphy was selected for inclusion in the commemorative album published by China Post and Philately.
In September 2014, his calligraphy was selected for the 2014 World Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition and the National Touring Exhibition of Famous Chinese Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Works.
In 2016, he was selected as a New Great Wall Artist.
In August 2017, he was selected as a Chinese Art Master featured on international postage stamps; his calligraphy-themed stamps entered circulation in the United States, France, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
In September 2017, he was included in "Encyclopedia of Calligraphers and Painters."
In January 2018, he was selected for "2018’s Top 100 Outstanding Artists" by the Collection Art Network in tribute to the National "Two Sessions."
In November 2018, he was included in "Encyclopedia of Artistic Rhythms."
In July 2020, he was selected as "Leading Figure in Contemporary Chinese Art."
His works have been collected by numerous domestic and international calligraphy and painting collectors and enthusiasts.
