Wang Liping
Personal Profile
Wang Liping, pen name Hao Xing, was born in Qingzhou, Shandong in November 1961. He began amateur photography in 1989, later self-studying calligraphy and fine arts, and has since published numerous photographic and journalistic works. In November 1997, he enrolled in the ninth session of the Correspondence Course at the China Photography Correspondence College.
His artistic and journalistic works have been published in over 70 newspapers, periodicals, and radio/TV stations including Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily, China Photography News, Photography and Videography, and Fine Arts Newspaper, totaling more than 2,300 pieces. He has won over 280 awards in national and regional photography competitions and exhibitions. His achievements have been included in more than ten reference books such as The Complete Collection of Chinese Photographers, Directory of Contemporary Photographers’ Masterpieces, and Annual of Works by Contemporary Chinese Photographers. In January 2002, he was honored as “World Outstanding Person” in Paris; in October 2003, he received the title of “Top Ten Masters in Fine Arts, Calligraphy, and Photography.” He currently holds the titles of National Senior Photographer and National First-Class Fine Artist. He is a member of the China Photographers Association, the Professional Photographers of America, and the Council of the China Professional Photographers Association; a member of the China Art Photography Society and the China Folklore Photography Association; Executive Vice Chairman of the Shandong Branch of the Chinese Large-Character Calligraphy Association; a member of the China Calligraphy and Painting Collectors Association; Honorary President and Senior Academician of the International Chinese Academy of Arts; Art Consultant of Oriental Art World; Honorary President of the Taipei Palace Museum Calligraphy and Painting Academy; and reporter for the China Photography News Agency and Photography Daily.
