Personal Profile

Chen Fayong, male, pseudonym Shuizhuju, holds a postgraduate degree from Nankai University, born in Jinan in 1968.

Currently serves as National First-Class Artist, Vice President of China Loving-Heart Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute, Member of the Art Committee of China National Academy of Painting, Member of China Modern Young Calligraphers and Painters Association, Director of China-foreign Calligraphy and Painting Exchange Association, Director of Shandong Calligraphy and Painting Society, Director of China Calligraphers and Painters Association, Member of Shandong Branch of World Artists Association, Member of Jinan Artists Association, Executive Dean of Shandong Calligraphy and Painting Society’s Zhonghua Calligraphy and Painting Academy and Nanshan Calligraphy and Painting Academy.

For over twenty years, he has remained steadfast in painting, never ceasing to hold the brush, dedicating himself to studying and copying masterpieces by ancient and modern artists such as Zheng Banqiao, Wu Zhen, Xu Gu, Lin Liang, Lü Ji, and Wang Xuetao. He has repeatedly attended and graduated from advanced training courses in calligraphy and painting at provincial and municipal levels, and studied under the renowned calligrapher and painter Mr. Yu Yuanchun, specializing in small freehand and semi-detailed traditional Chinese bird-and-flower painting. His works have been frequently exhibited in major national, provincial, and municipal art exhibitions, winning first, second, and third prizes as well as excellence awards. His artworks and special features have been published in numerous newspapers, television programs, magazines, and online platforms across national, provincial, and municipal media. Proficient in running-cursive script, he also paints plum blossoms, bamboo, orchids, and lotuses, especially excelling in bamboo, which he renders with vigorous strength and bold elegance. His work has consistently received high praise from industry professionals and art enthusiasts, establishing him as a highly skilled painter.
