Huang Dezhong, a native of Haizhou, Lianyungang, pen name Huang Mo, was born in June 1965 and holds a university degree. Influenced by his family since childhood, he developed a deep passion for painting. For many years, he has persistently worked within the realm between nature and inner inspiration. His compositions are rigorously structured, with bold and vigorous brushwork, revealing vivid dynamism and brilliance within disciplined forms. In 2018, he received an Excellence Award at the 9th National Calligraphy and Painting Competition, In 2018, he received an Excellence Award at the 10th China National Traditional Painting and Calligraphy Competition. In 2019, he participated in the Painting Exhibition Commemorating the 120th Anniversary of Zhang Daqian's Birth and the Art of His Descendants. In June 2019, he participated in “Painting the Land, Praising the Party with Brush and Ink,” celebrating the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. In August 2019, he participated in the “Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and Supporting Rural Revitalization” Third Tiger Culture Festival in Liubinbao Township. Huang Dezhong captures spirit through brush and rhythm through ink. Observing Master Huang’s brushwork—interwoven, freely flowing, and saturated with rich ink—one senses grand, vivid vitality and sincere, stirring emotion. The peonies blooming across his rice paper sway gently in the breeze, radiant and dewy, leaving viewers in awe. In his landscape works, Huang Dezhong demonstrates subtle ink variations and refined artistic conception. His ink tones are not heavy, appearing light and misty, evoking a sense of ethereal tranquility. His mountains convey lofty majesty; his waters reflect serene stillness. His brushstrokes are mature and powerful; his ink resonance is solid and grounded, authentically expressing the weighty grandeur of mountain ranges. The hazy spaces created through ink washes harmonize with the expressive simplicity of his brush lines. Known as a folk-art landscape painter, he later advanced his studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts under the tutelage of renowned painter Liang Qinghua. His works have won awards including the China Art Competition Prize and the Special Prize from the Contemporary Art Competition Network. Representative works include “Jiangnan Town,” “Such Splendid Landscapes,” and “Guanshui Yunshan”... He holds the title of National First-Class Artist, is a painter and calligrapher from Jiangsu Province, Lianyungang City, a member of the Jiangsu Calligraphers Association, a member of the Lianyungang Artists Association, and a member of the China Huaxia Ten-Thousand-Mile Journey Calligraphers and Painters Association. He later returned to his hometown to serve as Dean of the Painting and Calligraphy Training Center.
