Liu Xuepeng, male, Han ethnicity, born in December 1969, native of Haiyang City, Shandong Province, member of the China Democratic League, member of the Shandong Provincial Artists Association, director of the Yantai Municipal Artists Association, painter at the Yantai Yiduo Painting Academy of the China Democratic League, painter at the Shandong Haiyang Huanghai Painting Academy, also known by his studio name “Zhan Yi Tang.”
He developed a deep passion for fine arts and calligraphy from an early age under the influence of his family. In 1990, he graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Yantai Art School in Shandong Province. After graduation, he worked in design and later turned to studying traditional Chinese painting, specializing in landscape creation. He began by mastering traditional brushwork and ink techniques, practicing diligently, studying ancient calligraphy and renowned paintings, continuously researching and exploring innovations. In 2013, he attended the Advanced Research Class on Colored Ink Landscape Painting taught by Shi Yunxiang at the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University. In 2015 and 2016, he participated in the Landscape Painting Sketching and Creation Workshop organized by the Shandong Provincial Artists Association. In 2018, he attended the Advanced Research Class jointly organized by the Huanghai Painting Academy and the Beijing Chinese Painting Art Creation Institute. His works have been selected multiple times for national, provincial, and municipal professional exhibitions and have won numerous awards.
