Personal Profile
Wang Aixing, styled Haoran, also known as "Baima Mountain Man," was born in August 1943 in Pingdu City, Qingdao, and currently resides in Shizhong District, Jinan. He is a retired cadre (deputy division-level) from the Jinan Municipal Public Security Bureau.       He is currently a member of the Shandong Provincial Calligraphy and Painting Society, Vice President of the Shandong Catering Culture Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Vice President of the Jinan Rongwen Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Vice President of the Jinan Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute, Deputy Director of the Liaison Department of the Shandong Tourism Calligraphy and Painting Association, Calligrapher and Painter at the Shandong Generals Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Academician of the China Elderly Education Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Member of the Shandong Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Research Association, Member of the Shandong Yixin Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Member of the Shandong Retired Cadres Home Calligraphy and Painting Association, Member of the Jinan Retired Cadres Calligraphy and Painting Research Association, and Academician of the Henan Jinwang Calligraphy and Painting Academy.        He has loved art since childhood. During his military service, his creations for the “Three Loyalties” exhibition hall and the oil painting “Chairman Mao Inspecting the Red Guards” were commended by his division headquarters. After retirement, he devoted over ten years to studying freehand bird-and-flower painting at the Elderly University, receiving systematic instruction and authentic guidance from teachers such as Chen Wenbin, Yi Hejun, Han Bin, and Zhao Shigang. His freehand bird-and-flower painting has made a remarkable leap forward, achieving a rare grandeur and mastery of freehand expression. His art follows the natural way, unifying heart and brush, flowing freely and naturally, executed with perfect ease and control. He excels particularly in ink usage, producing works with rich, vigorous, and rustic brushwork that deliver a powerful visual impact and emotional resonance. For him, cultivating inner energy is essential to painting: he paints with wrist and elbow suspended, fingers firm and palm relaxed, channeling qi through the palm, drawing resilient strength from soft goat-hair brushes. Wherever his brush moves, myriad transformations emerge, fully revealing the true essence of painting. He has thus developed his own distinctive artistic style.        He has received numerous honors in successive calligraphy and painting competitions: Third Prize in the Second Shandong Provincial Public Security System "Golden Shield Light" Calligraphy, Painting and Photography Exhibition; Third Prize in Painting Category at the Jinan Political and Legal System Calligraphy, Painting and Photography Exhibition; Excellence Award in the Jinan Municipal Public Security Bureau Calligraphy, Painting and Photography Exhibition; Bronze Award in the Jinan "Xizhi Cup: Masters of the Century" Calligraphy and Painting Grand Prix; and two Second Prizes and two Third Prizes in calligraphy and painting competitions jointly held by Jinan Elderly University and Jinan Shizhong District Public Security Branch.
