       Jiang Shuming, styled as Drunk Bamboo Hermit, also known as Old Drunk and Former Villager of Tao Village, male, Han ethnicity, born in 1964 in Anqiu, Weifang City, Shandong Province. He has been passionate about calligraphy and painting since childhood, having practiced copying ancient paintings from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties for many years. Particularly fond of ink bamboo painting, he is deeply devoted to studying the styles and techniques of bamboo painting by historical masters such as Zheng Banqiao, Su Shi, and Wen Tong. While learning from the ancients, he avoids mere imitation, gradually developing his own distinctive style. His works are elegant and charming, and have been repeatedly exhibited in national calligraphy and painting competitions, winning awards including the Gold Prize in the First Chinese Prosperity Calligraphy and Painting Competition. In 2005, his works were included in the Contemporary Calligraphers and Painters Collection; in 2020, they were compiled into the comprehensive volume “Encyclopedia of Chinese Calligraphers and Painters (1949–2019).” His artworks are widely appreciated by the public and have earned him the honorary title of “Outstanding Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Art Award for National Revival.” Currently, he is a member of the China Calligraphers and Painters Art Association and a council member of the China Calligraphers and Painters Research Association. His artworks are treasured by numerous collectors, with a market valuation of 2000 RMB per square chi.
