      Zhang Xianmin, born in 1961, originally from Liangshan, Shandong, is a renowned contemporary Chinese painter. He currently serves as a member of the China Flower-and-Bird Painting Association, a member of the Shandong Provincial Artists Association, a director of the Jinan Academy of Painting, an artist at the Kong-Meng Academy of Painting, a director of the Caozhou Academy of Painting, and a director of the Jining Municipal Artists Association.In his early years, he studied under renowned masters, thoroughly copying flower-and-bird paintings of Song and Yuan dynasties, inheriting both Huang Quan’s opulence and Xu Xi’s rustic elegance, deeply influenced by the profound styles of Qingteng and Baiyang, navigating freely between the techniques of Bada Shanren and the Eight Eccentrics,while also learning the brushwork charm of Zhao Zhiqian and seeking inspiration from the works of Master Wang Xuetao. Under the guidance of renowned mentors, his skills have continuously refined, and he has been appointed as an artist by multiple art organizations. His works have repeatedly won major awards in national painting exhibitions and have been collected by well-known domestic and international figures as well as overseas Chinese.Among them, “Under the Banana Shade” and “Elegant Charm of the Lotus Pond” are treasured by the Great Hall of the People and the U.S. Embassy in China. He was specially invited by People’s Daily to create “Lotus Fragrance,” which was published in its overseas edition,and was invited to create “Fragrance in the Cold” at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. Multiple works have been published as model textbooks.
