 Personal Profile

Wang Jiangquan, born in 1940, is a native of Jiyang County, Shandong. He relocated to Yinchuan, Ningxia, in 1963 and became a calligrapher in Ningxia. He specializes in running and cursive scripts, deeply influenced by the calligraphic style of the “Two Wangs.” His brushwork is bold, dynamic, and graceful, flowing like drifting clouds and running water—naturally serene yet powerfully vigorous, with rustic solidity subtly revealing tenderness. In recent years, he has intensively practiced large-character calligraphy and is hailed as “The Foremost Master of Large-Character Calligraphy in Northwest China.” His four-character large-character works are highly sought after by collectors. His works have repeatedly won national calligraphy awards and have been selected for or included in various major publications.
In 2016, he established the “Wang Jiangquan Calligraphy Art Creation Center.”
In 2017, his self-funded “Wang Jiangquan Calligraphy Art Museum” is under construction.
He is currently a member of the Shandong Provincial Calligraphers Association of the China Calligraphers Association; Vice President of the China Large-Character Calligraphy Society; Art Consultant for Ningxia Zhongjing Film & Television Co., Ltd.; Art Consultant for Yinchuan Zhongjing Media Co., Ltd.; Honorary President of the Ningxia Donghongxuan Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Institute; and a contracted calligrapher at the Ningxia Donghongxuan Art Exchange Center.
