He Qingxi (also known as He Qingxi), master of Yibi Hall, styled Qingxi, and known by the sobriquet Hongshan Ren; currently a member of the Qingdao Artists Association, Deputy Secretary-General of the Pingdu Artists Association, and Council Member of the World Federation of Artists. Born in 1971, he holds a bachelor’s degree and has been engaged in art education since 1993. In 1989, he received an Excellence Award in the First National Huanghe Cup Hard-pen Calligraphy Competition, with his work engraved on stone steles and displayed in the Youyuan Stele Forest. In March 1991, he won the New Talent Award in the New Talent Cup National Calligraphy Competition, and his work was published. In January 1993, he received the Second Prize in the Red Army Cup National Calligraphy Competition; his work was exhibited in Guangxi Baise, the site of the Seventh Red Army Uprising, and was donated to the Red Army Memorial Hall for permanent collection. In June 1995, he won the Third Prize in the Xibi Spring Cup National Calligraphy Competition; his work was included in the anthology “Selections of Ancient and Modern Ink Treasures,” published by Guangzhou People’s Publishing House. In 1997, he received the Second Prize in the National Calligraphy Competition commemorating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions; his work was included in the book “Talents in the Calligraphy and Painting World at the Turn of the Century,” published by Hainan Publishing House. In 1997, he received the Second Prize in Pingdu City for the Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition Celebrating Hong Kong’s Return. In 2000, he won an Excellence Award in the Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition organized by the Pingdu Federation of Literary and Art Circles. In 2002, he received the Third Prize in the National Teachers’ Calligraphy and Painting Competition organized by the Chinese Society of Education. In 2007, he received an Outstanding Organization Award in the Pingdu Children’s Calligraphy and Painting Competition celebrating the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return. In July 2011, he won the Third Prize in the Xizhi Cup National Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting Masters Invitation Competition; in December, he received the Tianzhu Charm Award in the Pingdu Federation of Literary and Art Circles’ Spring Festival Exhibition. In 2012, he won the Third Prize in the Pingdu Huasen Cup Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition. In November 2013, he received the Third Prize in the Clean Qingdao Construction Calligraphy, Painting, and Photography Exhibition; in December, he again won the Tianzhu Charm Award in the Pingdu City Spring Festival Exhibition. He has twice received individual Second Prizes and once an Organization Award in the Qingdao Primary and Secondary School Art Festival. He has won multiple awards in events organized by the Pingdu Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Pingdu Artists Association. In 2014, he received the Second Prize in the National Teachers’ On-site Calligraphy and Painting Competition; in December 2014, Peninsula Metropolis Daily featured a special report on his calligraphy and painting, and he has published numerous academic papers on calligraphy and painting. In May 2018, he received the Third Prize in the National Teachers’ On-site Calligraphy Competition. In May 2019, “Toutiao” published a special feature on his calligraphy and painting; in July 2019, “Shenzhen Life Network” also published a special feature on his calligraphy and painting.
