Hao Shuyi (書儀), from Qingdao, Shandong, currently resides in Jinan, and is a student enrolled in the Dapeng Brand Education Chinese Painting Specialized Courses.
Began with the foundational “Four Gentlemen” of Chinese painting, then progressed through specialized courses in flowers and birds, landscapes, figures, meticulous-style painting, boneless painting, copying masterpieces from历代名家 (masters of successive dynasties), literati painting and neo-literati painting, sketching and creation, calligraphy (seal script, clerical script, regular script, running-cursive script, etc.), and seal carving. Studied the brushwork and techniques, painting theories, and philosophies of masters such as: Wang Wei, poet of the Tang Dynasty; Zhao Ji, the artist-emperor of the Northern Song; the eccentric Mi Fu; the polymath Zhao Mengfu of the Yuan Dynasty; Shen Zhou, one of the Four Masters of the Ming Dynasty; Dong Qichang, theorist of the Northern and Southern Schools; Xu Wei, the “Old Man Qingteng”; Chen Chun, the “Hermit of Baiyang Mountain”; Zhu Da, the grand master known as “Bada Shanren”; Shi Tao, the “Bitter Gourd Monk”; Jin Nong, leader of the “Eight Eccentrics”; Fu Ru, nobleman of a fallen dynasty; modern figures such as Feng Zikai, Qi Baishi, and Chen Shizeng; and contemporary artists like Mei Mosheng, Li Kuchan, Guan Liang, Li Laoshi, and Zhu Xinjian. Also studied Chinese art history, philosophy and life, and the history of Chinese painting theory, among other subjects.
