Starting with regular script, he later focused on running and cursive scripts, particularly enjoying copying famous works such as Ouyang Xun’s “Thousand Character Classic” and “Inscription on the Jiucheng Palace Sweet Spring,” Wang Xizhi’s “Preface to the Orchid Pavilion,” Zhao Mengfu’s “Ode to the Red Cliff,” “Ode to Leisure,” and “Memorial Address before Departing for War,” Han Daoheng’s “Hundred Rhymes Song of Cursive Script,” Sun Guoting’s “Treatise on Calligraphy,” and Mi Fu’s “Sushu Scroll.” He has extensively studied the stele scripts of the Two Wangs, Mi Fu, Huaisu, Zhang Ruitu, Wang Duo, and other masters. For over forty years, he has persisted in the traditional path of copying ancient masters, learning their brush techniques and spiritual essence, emphasizing cultural cultivation beyond calligraphy, continuously studying traditional Chinese culture, remaining grounded, self-reflecting, and transforming knowledge into personal practice. In recent years, he has placed importance on learning from contemporary calligraphers, studying under Professor Ding Dazhi, visiting scholar at Beijing Normal University, through discussions and exchanges that have greatly benefited him. He has participated multiple times in major national and provincial competitions, winning numerous awards. Representative works such as “Ode to Autumn Sounds” and “Ode to the Red Cliff” have received first and second prizes in Shandong and Weifang.
