Shandong Shan County native, fascinated with calligraphy and painting since childhood. Studied calligraphy under Mr. Xu Dongfang in early years, and during university received instruction from renowned calligraphers including Mr. Li Tong, Zhu Youzhou, Wang Lin, Xun Hai, and Liu Yuantang.

Began teaching in 2008; over the past decade, taught more than two thousand students. Mr. Sun has profound expertise in teaching brush calligraphy and freehand bird-and-flower painting, and has independently developed a teaching system specifically suited for children’s calligraphy and painting education. His teaching achievements and methods have earned widespread recognition from parents and peers. The Qilu Academy he founded has achieved remarkable success within just a few years, becoming a notable phenomenon in Nanjing’s calligraphy and painting training industry.

In teaching, Mr. Sun advocates an approach prioritizing interest, rooted in tradition, and centered on joy, forming the distinctive pedagogical model and system of Qilu Academy. He hopes to serve more children and parents in future calligraphy and painting education, contributing to the revival of China’s traditional culture.

Published three volumes of calligraphy textbooks (published by Southeast University Press) and one set of traditional Chinese painting tutorials.
