   Yu Wenxing, styled Zhongting, male, born in February 1964, is a native of Pingdu City, Qingdao, Shandong Province. He is currently a National First-Class Calligrapher, member of the Qingdao Calligraphers Association, member of Beijing Zhongxuan Shengshi International Calligraphy and Painting Academy, member of China Education Television’s Ink and Wash Danqing Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and academician of the China Century Great Expedition Calligraphy and Painting Academy. From childhood, he studied calligraphy under teacher Yu Limin, beginning with Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan styles, then progressing to copying the works of “Two Wangs.” Through studying the brushwork of predecessors such as Yu Songyan, Yu Xianghong, and He Shaoji of the late Qing Dynasty, he further comprehended the exquisite essence of traditional calligraphy. His calligraphy works have been repeatedly exhibited in national calligraphy exhibitions and competitions. Since 2005, he has primarily engaged in calligraphy education and creation, becoming a locally renowned professional calligrapher. In May 2005, he participated in the Contemporary Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Competition hosted by the Medical Sage Wu Daozi Art Museum, winning a Silver Award and inclusion in the “Collection of Outstanding Contemporary Chinese Calligraphers and Painters.” In September 2005, he participated in the “Yue’an Cup” First International Calligraphy Exhibition and received the “Nominated Work” Award; his work was included in “Treasury of Famous Works by Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Masters.” In August 2014, his work was selected for the Seventh China Chongyang Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition “Hongping Cup,” and included in “Directory of Contemporary Calligraphers and Painters.” In November 2014, his work won the Silver Award at the (APEC) Summit Contemporary Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition, and was included in “Grand Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Masters Going Global.” In July 2015, his work was included in the “Annual Anthology of Representative Works by Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Masters,” edited and published by “China Calligraphy and Painting Guide Newspaper.” In June 2017, he was honored as an “Influential Art Figure” on the China Good Brand HAOBRAND Art Figures List. In August 2017, he won the Silver Award in the Adult Calligraphy Category of the National [Calligraphy Heritage Award]. In January 2018, he won the Third Prize in Brush Calligraphy at the First “Calligraphy Impression Cup” National Calligraphy and Hard-Pen Calligraphy Competition. In March 2019, he was officially included in “The Great Journey… Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China” themed “Chinese Stamp Album.” After strict approval by relevant authorities, he was authorized to publish stamps, philatelic items, and albums, known as “National Cards.” In May 2019, he was specially invited by the International Brand Masters Encyclopedia Compilation Center to be included in the first batch of the (International) Brand Calligraphy Masters Encyclopedia Archive.
