He began learning calligraphy at age five and started systematic training at age six, studying regular script styles including Yan, Liu, Ouyang, Zhao, and Wei stele scripts. His running script is grounded in the works of masters such as the Two Wangs, Zhao Mengfu, Mi Fu, and He Shaoji; his cursive script draws inspiration from masters like Huaisu and Lin Sanzhi. His calligraphy exhibits a weighty, steady, and elegant style, with mature, vigorous brushwork and confident, fluid lines. His paintings encompass both oil and traditional Chinese painting, blending tradition with modern innovation.
