Personal Profile
Li Yong, male, born in 1963, is a native of Weifang City, Shandong. He is a member of the Chinese News Calligraphy Association, a member of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Association, and a director of the Weifang Calligraphy and Painting Association.
Since childhood, influenced by his family, he has developed a deep passion for calligraphy. For many years, he has diligently practiced copying ancient and modern masterpieces and various calligraphic styles, extensively studied stele rubbings and works by renowned calligraphers, attended lectures by multiple masters, and systematically studied the fundamentals of calligraphy. In 2015, he attended and graduated from Zhang Rongqing’s calligraphy training program, studying under masters Xu Youbing and Lin Feng. In 2019, he participated in the Advanced Training Program of the Shandong Calligraphers Association, receiving instruction successively from renowned calligraphers Zhang Ji, Zou Fangchen, Zhou Jianchu, Zhang Yuxiang, Qu Qingwei, and Zhang Weidong. After years of dedicated study and practice, his understanding and mastery of calligraphy have become broader and deeper, and his technical skills have significantly improved. His style integrates diverse influences, drawing from many masters, and pursues an artistic character that is ancient, substantial, graceful, and unrestrained. His works have received guidance and affirmation from multiple mentors and have been selected for exhibition in numerous domestic calligraphy exhibitions.
