Personal Profile

Li Shengping, female, born in 1955, a renowned female painter from Shandong.

She has studied traditional Chinese painting since childhood with profound foundational skills. Her primary focus is on floral and bird subjects, combining meticulous brushwork with freehand expression, particularly renowned for her peonies. In her brushwork, flowers and plants appear vigorous and graceful, evoking a fresh and elegant artistic realm. As a female artist, she integrates diverse techniques of Chinese painting with a delicate and inclusive heart, expressing vibrant, fresh, natural, and beautiful aesthetics.

Her depictions of peonies demonstrate a deep mastery of Eastern aesthetic principles—realistic in form without being ostentatious, expressive in spirit without being overly ornate. The entire composition perfectly unites form and essence, radiating an extraordinary vitality. Though the colors of the flowers are vivid, they never appear vulgar or gaudy; each blossom is richly splendid, exquisitely refined, lively and bright! Paired with light ink branches and leaves, the painting achieves a harmonious balance between density and sparsity, intensity and subtlety, appearing truly dynamic, lifelike, and breathtakingly real!

In 1995, she successfully held a personal art exhibition at Baotu Spring, and her works have been collected by numerous art enthusiasts.

Her work "Flowers Bloom, Wealth and Honor" won the First Prize in the 2013 SASAC System Painting and Calligraphy Competition.

Her works were selected for the Sixth National Floral and Fauna Exhibition and included in the exhibition catalogue.
