Wang Guansheng, courtesy name Zhongshan, male, Han ethnicity, bachelor’s degree, born in December 1988 in Dalian, Liaoning Province. Currently a member of the WaFangDian Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, academician of the Huaxia Lanting Calligraphy and Painting Academy in Beijing, council member of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, rated as a Level One Calligrapher by the China Calligraphy and Painting Professional Title and Rate Assessment Center, and external public welfare advisor at Dalian University of Technology, Liaoning University of Science and Technology, and Liaoning Communication College. Secretary-General of the Secretariat of the Liaoning Moral Model Volunteer Corps.

Wang Guansheng was born into a family of educators and was deeply influenced from childhood by his grandfather and uncle, both teachers with exceptional calligraphy skills. He developed a passion for calligraphy early on and repeatedly won first prizes in village, township, and municipal calligraphy competitions during elementary school. For many years, Wang Guansheng has regarded calligraphy as a major source of joy and a cherished hobby in his spiritual life, diligently practicing masterpieces by renowned calligraphers such as Yan Zhenqing, Wang Xizhi, Sun Guoting, and Wen Zhengming. While studying the masters, in August 2017, Wang Guansheng formally became a disciple of the renowned Chinese calligrapher Mr. Dai Zizhong, learning the essence of his art. Mr. Dai’s style avoids artificial eccentricity and instead embraces the natural beauty of spontaneity. Under Mr. Dai’s guidance, Wang Guansheng made remarkable progress in his calligraphy, winning the “Silver Award” at the 17th National “Lushan Cup Calligraphy and Painting Competition” and the “Gold Award” at the 6th National “Chinese Dream Cup Calligraphy and Painting Competition.” His calligraphy works have since been collected by numerous celebrities both domestically and internationally. Beyond his exceptional calligraphy skills, Wang Guansheng is also a compassionate philanthropist. Since 2012, he has served as Executive President of the Dalian Volunteers Love Alliance, a civilian nonprofit organization, consistently upholding the philosophy of “Small Acts, Great Love—Leading by Example.” He devotes himself wholeheartedly to serving society. He initiated and organized the “Public Welfare Calligraphy Classroom,” bringing free calligraphy instruction to communities and schools, benefiting thousands of students across numerous primary and secondary schools and community centers, promoting traditional Chinese culture. His efforts have received enthusiastic support and high praise from government agencies, schools, and parents alike. Over the years, his contributions to public welfare have earned him widespread acclaim and numerous honors: In 2009, he was awarded the title of “Outstanding Youth League Cadre of Dalian City”; in 2013, honored as one of Dalian’s “Ten Outstanding Youth Volunteers”; in 2014, nominated as a “Candidate for Good Person” by CCTV-3’s program “Warm China”; in 2015, awarded the title of “Advanced Individual in Poverty Alleviation in Liaoning Province”; in 2017, recognized by the Dalian Municipal Office of Civilization as a “Dalian Good Person”; in 2018, named a “Liaoning Good Person” by the Liaoning Provincial Office of Civilization, among other accolades. Leveraging his personal influence, he has mobilized a significant micro-volunteer movement, growing the volunteer base to over 3,000 members. From 2011 to the present, over six years, Wang Guansheng has volunteered an average of at least two hours daily, accumulating more than 4,500 hours of service. He has led his love team in assisting over 300 disadvantaged individuals, raising more than RMB 7 million in funds and donated goods. Every charitable act he has undertaken is documented and has been widely reported by multiple media outlets, including Dalian Television, Dalian Daily, Peninsula Morning Post, Dalian Evening News, LiaoShen Evening News, Beijing Evening News, and China Central Television.
