Personal Profile

Zhang Yunqing, courtesy name Zijun, art name Jiju Anshi, studio name Hanmo Xuan. Born in 1944 in Dalian, Liaoning. Skilled in poetry, calligraphy, and painting, he received early training in calligraphy and painting from his grandfather, Mingshan, drawing inspiration from the styles of the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, with Wu Zhen, Shi Tao, and Tang Yin as his primary models. He specializes in flowers, birds, and figures, and has consistently pursued creative work, benefiting from guidance by renowned artists such as Chen Banding, Huang Yongyu, Ji Guanzhi, Shen Yan Yi, and Liu Fulin. His works have won awards in numerous provincial, municipal, and national calligraphy and painting competitions. His artworks have been included in major publications such as 【The Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Collection Canon】, 【The Chinese Art Treasure House: Century Literary Heritage Collection of Paintings and Calligraphy】, 【Selected Works of Contemporary Chinese Calligraphers and Painters】, and 【The Chinese Heritage Calligraphy and Painting Canon】, and are held in private collections. He has been honored with titles such as “Outstanding Meritorious Artist of Contemporary China,” “Chinese National Art Master,” by the China Artists Creation Association, International Chinese Cultural Arts Association, World Cultural Appraisal Center, and China National Painting Academy. He has also received the “International Middle School Fine Arts and Calligraphy Instruction Award.” He served as chief editor of 【Selected Works of Modern and Contemporary Calligraphy and Painting from Zhuanghe】. He is currently President of Dalian Shipbuilding Specialized College, President of the “Hanmo Xuan Calligraphy and Painting Collection and Research Society,” and a council member of the China Literati Artists Association, China Artists Creation Association, China Calligraphy and Painting Artists Association, China Modern History Society, Zhongzhou Painting and Calligraphy Academy; recognized as a First-Class Artist and a member of the Liaoning Dalian Artists Association.
