Yu Zhan, pen name Yulu, born in 1960, native of Shandong Province's Xintai City and Liaoning Province's Fushun City, holds a bachelor's degree. Currently employed by the Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of Pingdingshan City, Henan Province. A National Level One Calligrapher, he has been honorarily appointed as Honorary Chairman of the China International Calligraphy Artists Association, member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, member of the Chinese Hard-Pen Calligraphy Association, member of the Chinese Mao-style Calligraphy Artists Association, member of the Chinese Painting, Calligraphy and Photography Artists Association, council member of the China Strait Cross-Strait International Exchange Association, and academician of the Henan Dahua Calligraphy and Painting Academy. His calligraphy works have won over a hundred special prizes and gold medals in international and national painting and calligraphy competitions. He has been awarded titles such as “Top 500 Global Calligraphers,” “Top 100 Chinese Calligraphers,” and “Most Appreciated Realist Calligrapher in China’s Contemporary Art Collection Market in 2017” by prestigious art institutions including the China International Calligraphy Artists Association, China Calligraphy Academy, and China Painting Academy. His calligraphy works have been exhibited in countries such as the United States, France, Russia, Canada, Italy, Turkey, Indonesia, Thailand, and regions including (Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao) and are permanently collected by national art museums.
